I have absolutely no desire to stop the hearing. I would like to have this be a full, thorough airing of the issues raised by this legislation.

There is not good enough coordination between the Clery Title IX process and the ordinary and proper course of a law enforcement investigation.

Increased training and support for law enforcement officers is not sufficient to eliminate bias in policing.

Officers should be trained in trauma-informed investigatory methods, should be familiar with the campus offices that assist survivors.

It is important to remember that the title IX process and the criminal process seek to address different aspects of the impact of violence.

I would encourage you and ask it as a question for the record to make recommendations on how we could simplify the quality reporting so that it has real consumer impact, in addition to any questions about undue regulatory burden.

Leaving out behavioral health and leaving out skilled nursing facilities seem like very significant oversights.
