I hope we can continue to focus on that and make sure we don't set up an economic system in which we inadvertently steer people away from solving that problem instead of toward solving that problem.
What more could we be doing to make sure that this technology that we are encouraging doesn't lose its focus on that aspect of the problem set we are dealing with...
I have been a vigorous advocate for health care delivery system reform for quite some time.
All families and young people deserve the security of having a safe place to call home.
That was the question--how soon that might be, given that we have a 2:15 vote coming up. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator from Texas is recognized.
No. My question was, simply, how long the Senator was going to proceed, given that the schedule for my remarks was at 1:35. So no further questions. I apologize for interrupting. I was just trying to sort out the timing. The PRESIDING…
I am not very happy to be back with my trusty and somewhat battered ``Time to Wake Up'' poster. Almost exactly a year ago, I delivered what I hoped would be my last ``Time to Wake Up'' speech and took the poster off the floor. Things…
will the Senator yield for a question? The PRESIDING OFFICER. Does the Senator yield for a question?
They not only have zero success, they got clobbered, laughed out of court, and in some cases, lost law licenses and were sanctioned for their behavior, so it`s about as bad as it gets.
I think he`s right. And I think he`s trying to create some distance between himself and Trump. Mitch tends to play the long game. And I don`t think he wants to bind himself to Trump in such a way that when, as, and if Trump collapses…
It`s interesting, though, now he`s packed a six to three court. And it`s not clear to me that what Mitch McConnell wants is a lot of controversy and attention around the court.
I just want to flag that for you, because we will be pursuing this to make sure that all of the work that we have done in Rhode Island does not come to naught at the hands of the Federal Government.

this past weekend is our annual reminder as a country of the courage, suffering, sacrifice, passion, love, and energy that so many of our fellow Americans put into protecting our democracy. When in a democracy, one group of citizens can…
Thank you, Leader. Much appreciated. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator from South Carolina.
So far, it has been a very large array of trespassing and glorified trespassing prosecutions of people who actually broke into the building. But it has not gone into the various rings that might have supported it or into the key fund…
Of your $1.72 billion, 97.7 percent will go inland. You do understand that part of the coastal damage that you are referring to, part of the climate risk that you referred to, is sea levels rising, worse coastal storms, and resulting…
We are going to have to have a bit of a conversation about why 97.7 percent goes to inland and about 2.3 percent goes to coastal of that $1.72 billion.
with my distinguished colleague from Utah here, I would just--before I get to my remarks--suggest that there may be an exception to his rule that when a piece of legislation is only sponsored by Members of one party it can't be serious…
We can no longer go in an indefinite mode of waiting to find what will please our recalcitrant senators. At some point, when people are negotiating things, they need to put forward their position, something that they actually will agree to.
So far, it has been a very large array of trespassing and glorified trespassing prosecutions of people actually broke into the building. But it has not gone into the various rings that might have supported that or into the key fund-raisers…
