Tim Murphy is a former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district from 2003 until 2017. During his time in Congress, Murphy focused on issues such as healthcare, mental health reform, and energy policy. He was known for his work on the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act, which aimed to improve mental health services and support for families affected by mental illness. Murphy also served on various committees, including the Energy and Commerce Committee, where he contributed to legislation on health care and energy issues.
I believe in recovery. I believe in lives being restored and every individual living up to their full God-given potential and doing so drug-free.
We want to know what to do here because this deadly epidemic is something that we have to address.
Of all the nations of the world, America consumes the most opium, in one form or another.
We have to set our eyes on the goal of full recovery, not just addiction maintenance.
We continue our oversight series today by listening to law enforcement and public health officials who are working at the on the front lines to protect our communities and our families in this national epidemic.
I believe it directly incorporates the minimum requirements set forth in your December final rule.
Are you concerned as well that that basically means we are going to punt our authority here by relying on the courts for enforcement?
So this is a big challenge for Congress. It is going to require continued investment and commitment in Congress and in industry.
But my colleague, Renee Ellmers, and I have started the Grid Innovation Caucus.
It is imperative that we establish a clear understanding of the issues we face.
