Who can Members of this House rely on for promises made to them, the chairman of the Committee on Banking, Finance, and Urban Affairs, or his staff? Who sets the agenda for the Committee on Banking, Finance, and Urban Affairs, the chairman, or the House Democratic leadership? The chairman of the Committee on Banking, Finance, and Urban Affairs promised hearings on Whitewatergate as well as RTC oversight. We would, in good conscience, expect those hearings will be held, statements of the staff and the Speaker, notwithstanding.”
