Patrick Toomey is a former United States Senator from Pennsylvania, serving from 2011 to 2022. A member of the Republican Party, Toomey was known for his focus on fiscal conservatism, economic growth, and limited government. During his tenure, he served on several Senate committees, including the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, where he was involved in financial regulation and economic policy discussions.
The Fed's policy is especially troubling because the warning siren for problematic inflation is getting louder.
I'm concerned that the Fed's current paradigm almost guarantees that it will be behind the curve if inflation becomes problematic and persistent.
The economy has come roaring back from COVID. GDP is above its prepandemic level, and the Fed forecasts GDP will grow by a robust 7 percent this year.

"Buy American" policies that seek to limit foreign access to U.S. Government procurement contracts have caused our trading partners to threaten to do the same.
I think the imposition of the 232 tariffs really were not motivated by an excess capacity issue.

This is completely one-sided. And I am very concerned that this mechanism is not giving the accused party any opportunity to either defend themselves or correct the problem, if there is one.
We aren't here today to talk about ways we can make housing more affordable.
We must work in a bipartisan manner toward comprehensive reform which serves families and the taxpayers.
This is unbelievable. I mean, the only indication that exists at all about the nature of the complaint is what the complaining union has voluntarily released.
There is no guarantee that further Government support will improve access to housing.
