every public interest group that has been fighting for reform over the last decade have worked with a bipartisan group to put real reform before the table. Members of the press, New York Times, the Washington Post, every credible editorial in America have called on this body to have a vote on real bipartisan campaign finance reform. And what do we have? We have a motion to suspend the rules that requires a two-thirds vote. Members of the majority party may think that they are fooling the American public, but I have to tell them, the public gets it. They understand what is at work here, and they are just as disgusted at this process as the Democrats are.
