I think that President Trump's commitment to getting an infrastructure package passed this year provides the perfect avenue to do that, whether it is through a gas tax, which I have consistently advocated for, or another user fee.

I am always told we must have compassion for the person who breaks the law and comes to this country illegally, but rarely does someone speak up for the victims of this crime.

I think we need to make sure that we are not wasting these taxpayer dollars, but we are actually giving the dollars to States who have done things to reduce cost.

I have been greatly disappointed by President Trump's proposed cuts to these vital programs, but remain committed to supporting much-needed homeland security grants to communities across this country.
