Francis Collins: “Public service is the most wonderful kind of experience you can have.”

Freedom has responsibilities, not just rights. And if this is what we have to do to get to the point where this virus is sent packing, well, that`s up to all of us to get there.

Francis Collins, then head of the NIH, labeled me a fringe epidemiologist.

I`m a scientist, I`m a doctor, I`m not a politician, but somehow this is all gotten tangled up, and people have lost their grip on evidence of what ought to be used to make a decision like this.

Freedom is about rights, but it's also about responsibilities.
