I just wanted to state, too, that the underlying legislation does not include any funds to close the naval station at Guantanamo Bay, a facility I have visited. I also should point out, as the distinguished ranking member just stated, Mr. Bishop, that the naval station is a key strategic location for SOUTHCOM, and I would support the gentleman's amendment.

This asylum system is broken. Most of these people come across the border are economic migrants. They are not legitimate asylum cases.
It's clear that Joe Biden is trying to appeal. I think to what he might see as persuadable voters. But it's important to remember that many persuadable voters are somewhat transactional.
They should be hammering him on this, that he is likely to be indicted yet again, and maybe one or two more times.
