I want to reiterate what an honor and privilege it is to serve as Ranking Member of the Budget Committee.

I have served in the minority, the majority, the minority. The House is probably 50-50 up for grabs facing next election.

I happen to wish the committee had more funds to execute its responsibilities.

I am proud to say that on this budget we agree.

Louis DeJoy, you are no Benjamin Franklin. There is a reason why I and others of my colleagues have called for his termination.

the Russian invasion and attack on Ukraine is paramount, but a close second to that is every one of my colleagues is speaking about the inflation going on in their country.

I know it is tempting to get into the usual partisan food fight and score points.

But there has to be a better of balancing civil liberties with the desire of a family to get love and care to one that desperately needs it.

I would bring to your attention--though I am certain that you are aware of it--that when--although this is the case actually with both--it is not just the person who is suffering either from an addiction or from a mental health issue, but the family that is affected.

It is not overstating the situation to call it a crisis.

There are just far too few in our society and we have a lot of people in our country who are hurting because of that.
