My constituents want leaders who fight for their interests against the wealthy and well-connected, not politicians that can be bought with a corporate PAC check.
They can keep polling and we’re going to keep fighting back against the Trump administration to protect and deliver for our constituents.
Right now, if we don't vote on this, or if we don't release these files, we're sending a message that if you are a powerful abuser... you'll be covered.
The American people want transparency. At the end of the day, we have to send a message that whether you are the littlest guy or you are the most powerful person in this nation, that if you commit a crime, if you do things that we aren't supposed to do, that there will be some accountability.
It has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the crime of enslavement of Africans and its lasting harm on the lives of millions of Black people in the United States.
We are being told that this lifeline, these very basic protections, are on the chopping block so that billionaires can get yet another tax break.
