Al Schmidt: “I’d like to ask that voters be patient with their county board of election staff when choosing this option.”

It’s important to clarify this so that voters have the right set of expectations when showing up at a board of elections office.

I take seriously the obligations under both federal and Pennsylvania law to ensure that only eligible voters have access to the ballot box and to see to it that Pennsylvania’s voter rolls are appropriately maintained and updated.

We urge voters to rely on trusted, official sources of election information, such as their county election office website or the Pennsylvania department of state voter website.

The closer we get to the election, the more mis- and disinformation voters are likely to encounter.
