Ron Wyden is an American politician serving as the senior United States senator from Oregon, a position he has held since 1996. A member of the Democratic Party, Wyden has been a prominent advocate for civil liberties, healthcare reform, and technology policy. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on issues such as privacy rights, government surveillance, and access to healthcare, often emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in government actions.
Jay Clayton has no business being confirmed for this role. He has repeatedly demonstrated his eagerness to support Donald Trump ’s conspiracy theories and corruption.
If he didn’t know, then he had no idea what his own office was doing, despite having signed the subpoenas, which isn’t a great qualification for someone to lead our intelligence agencies.
Mr. Clayton is the U.S. Attorney in the Southern District. He signed the subpoenas. He is responsible for this effort to intimidate the press.
It has been clear for months that, under this administration, the main qualification to be DNI is the willingness to use the position to spread conspiracy theories about elections.
It is no longer acceptable for agencies to use insecure, decades-old technology.
