I want to thank the Subcommittee for all its hard work on behalf of Indian Country, and particularly today for holding this hearing on my legislation, H.R. 1208, which would amend the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 and affirm the authority of the Secretary of the Interior to take land into trust for Indian tribes.
