I think we ought to have a recorded vote on this since we are not paying for it and we are taking $1.9 billion out of the O&M budget of the Defense Department. I ask we have a recorded vote. You beat the crap out of them when something goes wrong, so their underlying statement is never do what is best when you can do what is safe.
As stewards of the Federal purse, we should be ensuring that we are doing all that we can to save taxpayer dollars and create efficiency in Government.
That is not partisan. That is just due to the fact that there is not a commitment to reconciliation and working together to get things done.
It's unclear to what extent the air marshal program is reducing risk to aviation security, despite the more than $820 million annually that is spent on the program.
