On the recordOctober 11, 1998
One key point. We heard that the Republicans had not done anything for municipal bond funding for schools. The President vetoed a tax cut for schools in terms of their ability to float bond issues. He vetoed it from his own desk. So to claim that we did not do it, we did it, we passed it, we sent it to him and he vetoed it. So the misdirection. One of the things you do when you are on offense, if things are not going real well is you misdirect. You go a different direction. That is what we see on the football field. That is what we are seeing in terms of playing with the truth.
