Kendra S. Horn: “I want Americans to be the first to set foot on the Red Planet.”

It is one of those things that is so outrageous to me that we are not taking care of our service members and their families in the way that they deserve.

We know that the road to sending American astronauts to Mars will require a commitment and direction that continues across many Congresses and Administrations.

You have in the Navy 710 Navy fighter pilots; 17 or less than 3 percent are African American, and not a single woman.

This is a systemic problem and one that we have to fix, and you have a lot of work to do to fix it.
