September 11 showed Americans the results of the devastating effects of terrorism in our lives and communities. Sadly, citizens of Israel must deal with terrorism every day. The terrorists want to destroy Israel. As the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel embodies the ideals and virtues that we treasure as Americans. Let us support the people of Israel. The peace will only come when Israel and its Arab neighbors come together and work out a realistic and honest agreement. For that to occur, acts of terrorism must end and Israel's right to exist in peace must be recognized and honored.
