We need to take government shutdowns off the table and force Congress to stay in town until its work is done.
If you lose your job, the government shouldn’t tell you the only way forward is to go work for somebody else. Some folks have a business idea they’ve been dreaming about for years, and losing a job might be the push to finally chase it.
This will prevent a government-wide shutdown, continue critical services and operations for Americans, and hold federal workers harmless while Congress completes appropriations.
It’s not just our cooperation with Chinese scientists. It’s our acknowledgment that China covered up their data, wouldn’t allow our scientists to be able to come in.
