We can't just have a system where we have that. In between the ports of entries, when it gets crowded, they'll just release them under a parole authority there, and they're just released into the country.

Making the government more efficient isn't a partisan issue, it's an American issue.
That basically puts all of us, House and Senate, Republicans and Democrats, to say you can’t do anything but appropriations, and you’re going to stay there until appropriations is done.
We must take government shutdowns off the table and force Congress to stay in town until its work is done.
This shouldn't be controversial. This should just be something to build trust in our elections.
