SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``WIOA Technical Amendments Act''. SEC. 2. AMENDMENTS TO WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT. (a) Designation of Areas Served by Rural Concentrated Employment Programs as Local Areas.-- (1) In general.--Section 106(b) of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (29 U.S.C. 3121(b)) is amended-- (A) by redesignating paragraphs (5) and (6) as paragraphs (6) and (7), respectively; and (B) by inserting after paragraph (4) the following: ``(5) Areas served by rural concentrated employment programs.--The Governor may approve, under paragraph (2) or (3), a request for designation as a local area from an area described in section 107(c)(1)(C).''. (b) Local Workforce Development Boards.--Section 107(i)(1)(B) of such Act (29 U.S.C. 3122(i)(1)(B)) is amended by striking ``the day before the date of enactment of this Act'' and inserting ``the day before the date of enactment of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998''.…
