While we may disagree about the best way to accomplish these things, we all want to keep money out of the hands of those who would cause us harm.

I urge adoption of this bipartisan bill that passed unanimously in committee and in the House last year. Mr. Speaker, I yield back the balance of my time.

This proposal does not do anything to incentivize new housing units.

I hope we get as many people sheltered in the short term as possible, but we absolutely need to use this hearing to discuss more solutions to address homelessness for the long term.
