It is no secret that graduate programs, like medical school, come with a premium price tag.

I think that probably we all agree that the amount of tuition that is owed is incredibly huge and a huge drain on the people that have it hanging over their heads and their families, and it is startling.

It is absolutely important that we support legislation such as H.R. 1554, the REDI Act.

We have to note that student debt is far from the only barrier that prevents private practice for doctors today.

Of course, as policymakers, we must balance the need to be proper stewards of taxpayer dollars, while also encouraging the growth and success of our future healthcare professionals.
