That is something else that sort of confused me the way you put your argument, but I am wondering why we are raising the bar for this nominee. Is that what we are doing here? Are we saying he has to stand a more difficult test than all others in the past or all others will be asked in the future? I go back to that other old word, I say to my friend from Alabama: ``Fair.'' I guess that is all we ask, fairness. Everything I have read and everything I have heard tells me that this man is qualified to sit at any other man's fire. And I would tell you they don't come with a higher recommendation than that. But let's not ask this man to be subjected to a higher bar than has been asked of every other American-- not this American. I yield the floor.
