I understand that the Western Area Power Administration and The Bureau of Reclamation are considering raising rates for the power necessary to operate irrigation systems in the Eastern Division of the Pick-Sloane Missouri Basin Project. The purpose of these agencies is not to raise revenue. Rather, these agencies are designed to provide reliable and affordable power for multi-purpose economic development.
