That's all we're talking about. They could be able to exercise their First Amendment liberty where it says Congress shall not abridge freedom of speech.

$30 million is a lot of money, a lot of money.

The American people frankly are tired of this kind of display of incompetence again.

Mr. Grothman's comments about a document that is very important taking seven years to update, it is pure incompetence.

The IRS is treating taxpayers the way they are not supposed to, and it is why this committee has been so focused on trying to clean up the mess over there and frankly I have been so focused on saying Mr. Koskinen has to go.

We would appreciate that, but this is when Congress first learned was on April 6 that there had been an incident.

Well, that is important, right?

So you are supposed to do it and you are supposed to do it within seven days. Is that accurate?

Just generally, I think we think what is the best for the customer, just doing what is right for the customer, is to let them take a bag for free, bags for free, not charge change fees, not charge cancellation fees, et cetera, et cetera.

We are not going to go broke, I promise you that.

The thought of that is, 'If you can control the words, you can control the thoughts; if you can control the thoughts, you can control the action.'

Maybe so, but we'd also like to see the guidelines on another area of you guys' activity that has real concerns.

I mean, that's the concern here. So I'm glad the chairman, and I'm glad the ranking member supports the chairman in getting this information to us, at least on the confidential informants.

So think about this: You are at the airport where there's all kinds of security. Individual walks up to you, flashes a badge, and says, 'Hey, can I talk to you and search your luggage?' That's going on right now in America.

We want the document. We want the guidelines so we can see what's going on here.

How is it sensitive when you don't have the names of the informants and locations of the informants? What's sensitive?

Thank you, Mr. Chairman, and I'll be real brief. I just wanted to thank you for this hearing and your continued focus on privacy, particularly in this digital age which we find ourselves a part of.

I don't trust the Federal Government. I don't believe that there is such a thing where they can keep all of this information locked down and secure.

No. I said the president did a great job and I appreciate the president, but the bill is still bad.

I believe, when you look through it, it's Obamacare in a different form.

Taxpayer advocates said that taxpayer service is the number one most serious problem at the Internal Revenue Service.

I want to just thank the chairman for helping us put this important hearing together.

The current Commissioner, someone who, frankly, I am not a big fan of, said it was 'abysmal.'

I think this is going to be some hopefully valuable information for the folks we get the privilege of serving and representing.
