the energy industry, let us not forget, is responsible for 10 million high-paying jobs in this country, and it is also a national security issue.

I want to thank Chairwoman Maloney for giving this committee yet another opportunity, another platform to highlight the horrible, miserable, failed policies of the Biden Administration and the Democratic Party as a whole.

I will tell you what is frustrating is a Member of Congress telling American oil and gas companies to reduce production at the same time the President United States is begging OPEC to increase production.

These folks would regulate you right out of business tomorrow if they could--don't pretend otherwise.

The Biden Administration, as it has done on all the crises it has had over the last nine months, has no plan to confront these mounting problems.

And if we want cleaner energy, we should at least use the expertise of the energy industry because they have shown and they have proven themselves to be innovators.

The climate is very important to Republicans as well. We just want to work with the private sector to reduce our carbon footprint.

When are we going to hold a hearing with a Biden Administration Cabinet member so we can hold the Federal Government accountable?

Again, I ask the question, why don't Democrats want to know where this virus started, how this virus started?

Everybody sees that the inflation they're paying in higher prices is a result of all the increased spending, trillions in new spending, that we've seen this year.

I'd like Mr. Daszak here, and why the majority party won't do it I'll never know.

There's only one committee, only one select committee that's supposed to look into the coronavirus issue, and it seems to me the first question we'd be most focused on is: How did this thing start?

This is a problem that my Democrat colleagues want to ignore, but, sadly, American families don't have that luxury.

We had a guy who got American taxpayer money to do research in China on bat coronaviruses.

When Democrats in the majority recklessly dumped almost $2 trillion into the economy this spring, they poured gasoline on this inflationary fire.

Inflation is probably the largest tax increase on middle-and lower-income families.

Rather than recognize what those policies have done, it seems like this majority continues to spend trillions more dollars.
