It's clear to me that we have to better adapt to a changing climate, and take proactive steps that ensure Americans are protected from harm.

I'm somebody who thinks we should be increasing our research across the board and making sure we're always at the cutting-edge, but alongside of that we have to secure.

That was a bill that I was pleased to introduce.

There is a housing supply crisis. We do not have anywhere near the number of homes being built today.

Like a lot of folks on my side of the aisle, I believe in the State-based regulatory framework. I think that has served our country very well.

I want to commend you for that, because over the last few weeks, I have spent quite a bit of time talking about banks throughout my State.

If we stop, right, if we just say, hey, we are not going to be the Project Mavens of the world, surely China will.

I can't help but echo the comments that others have made with how irresponsible the CECL decision feels from the outside.

I think the independence of FASB generally is a good thing, right? I think, generally speaking, it has been positive.

Ultimately, the new standard has produced many concerns that CECL will have the opposite effect than intended, and rather than produce a safer financial outlook in a downturn, CECL could be procyclical and, indeed, cause problems for us…

We should be equally disgusted when El Paso happens as Dayton, which are two different ideologies.

I think the fastest way to make sure that we do absolutely nothing on this issue is to politicize it.

Yes. Basically, this notion that there are a lot of people online and in our society who are saying a lot of things, but the gap between the rhetoric and the action, I think, is sort of what I am trying to get at.

The next transition if we go to full-scale renewables will be very slow. And so these projections... that we can somehow solve this with wind, solar, and battery is fanciful.

We need to do more not only to expand our capacity but make it more affordable.

I think we've actually made progress, sort of this bizarro world where in here I feel like we make progress and they get on Twitter and, God forbid, it's something completely different.

I certainly appreciate the progress, right? But for me, even a dollar is too much for our taxpayers to be contributing to China.

Efforts to reduce the loss of life and property from windstorms is of extreme importance to my family, my friends, and my neighbors.

Each year, lives are lost, billions are spent recovering from the destruction caused by tornadoes, hurricanes, and windstorms.

It is important we continue to support the Federal research done through NWIRP to improve our understanding of windstorms.

Clearly, these are troubling for any parent, I think the uncertainty maybe more than anything.

I'm a somewhat new father, 19-month-old son, and obviously the flu with respect to our children is something that's near and dear to my heart and many hearts in this room and across the country.

I think the fear that I have, and I think everybody should have, when we look at this Warren bill, which I think would be a disaster for jobs, and certainly for my community, is the effect that it would have on the real economy.
