Zohran Mamdani is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 36th district. Elected as a Democrat, he is known for his progressive policies and advocacy for social justice. Mamdani has focused on issues such as housing equity, healthcare access, and environmental justice during his time in office. He has been an outspoken advocate for the rights of marginalized communities in New York.
I’m very excited to keep building this campaign until we win this race, and to show New Yorkers they don’t have to choose between the past of a disgraced former governor or the present of a disgraced current mayor.
On this June 24th, we have an opportunity to say that Muslims don’t just belong in New York City. We belong in City Hall.
We talk about freedom, justice, safety for everyone, but suddenly we draw lines about who ‘everyone’ is.
It's ironic to hear the mayor describe himself as an independent when his record has shown him anything but that.
We are here in a moment that demands all of us because the richest man in the world has purchased the president of the United States.
Right now, what we’re seeing is a paucity of imagination and ambition to fight for working people before embracing what we are being told is the only option in front of us.
It's critical for us to be fighting this dismantling of the first amendment.
