Zohran Mamdani is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 36th district. Elected as a Democrat, he is known for his progressive policies and advocacy for social justice. Mamdani has focused on issues such as housing equity, healthcare access, and environmental justice during his time in office. He has been an outspoken advocate for the rights of marginalized communities in New York.
I will fight for a city that works for you, that is affordable for you, that is safe for you.... We can be free and we can be fed. We can demand what we deserve.
This is just the beginning of our expanding coalition to make New York City affordable.
My concern is to start to walk down the line of language and making clear what language I believe is permissible or impermissible takes me into a place similar to that of the president.
Call it democracy or call it democratic socialism. There has to be a better distribution of wealth for all of God’s children in this country.
Trump wants to distract from what I’m fighting for. And I’m fighting for the very working people that he ran a campaign to empower, that he has since then betrayed.
For too long, politicians have pretended to simply be bystanders to a cost of living crisis. They’ve actually exacerbated it.
We can beat anyone that’s in this race because what we’ve shown is that this is a campaign that has the support of more than 400,000 New Yorkers.
I am humbled by the support of more than 545,000 New Yorkers who voted for our campaign and am excited to expand this coalition even further as we defeat Eric Adams and win a city government that puts working people first.
