I believe one of my colleagues suggested that maybe, instead of giving Americans tax relief, that we withhold that tax relief so that we can spend more here in the Congress, instead of taking the time to have the debate on the floor, look through these 13 spending bills carefully and determine if there are ways that we can save, so that we can keep more money in the pockets of Americans and continue to improve consumer confidence in spending, which has really held up our economy over the last year. We have some tough decisions to make. On our side, while we might be fussing and arguing tonight, our whole point is to try to keep spending at its lowest level. If we look back at this chart that was reviewed a minute ago, we know that we are on a course for some pretty heavy deficits.
