Too often, insidious forces use local government to advance divisive agendas with little regard for how it hurts everyday New Yorkers.
We have to think that his refusal to roll over for the hard left goes a long way to explaining the decision of the imperious, unaccountable Campaign Finance Board to kneecap his re-election campaign by denying it any matching funds.
Major change is welcome and necessary, but beware of those who claim the answer to destroy the very system we built together over generations.
Is the real agenda to cover me the same way you are covering the other candidates or to undermine my campaign?
I want to be clear, although this is the end of my campaign, this will not be the end of my public service.
I will keep fighting for the city, no matter what… because I am a New Yorker and fighting for our city is just what I do.
