Oh, I think that is very clear, yes. There is an awful lot of history of this situation, and I think that it is very clear in just a routine examination of that history, it is quite obvious that accountability upgrades quality.

I think that is one of the things that is very important here: We want to have good, competent, highly-qualified personnel dealing with the normal set of circumstances to which military personnel might be involved with.

The circumstances there you are dealing with are very, very difficult, and very, very dangerous for the people who are wounded and for the people who are providing the medical care and attention.

This country and this Congress have affirmed their support for the men, women, and families of the United States military.

The Carmelo Rodriguez Military Medical Accountability Act of 2009 will finally bring accountability into the military medical system.

I don't think there are fewer doctors, no. I think that has not had an impact on the number of doctors that are available.

I think the responsibility for medical malpractice has done a significant amount of good work to upgrade the quality of health care in a variety of ways.

The medical attention that has to be given there has to be immediate, and it has to be in ways that are designed to save the life of that person.

I believe we must match the dedication and sacrifice of our soldiers with the adequate health care they deserve.

This bill helps ensure that the military, like any other health care institution, takes steps to improve care.

Joining the military should not mean that one has to give up his or her right to hold medical providers accountable.

Don't let this just be it. Don't let this be it. Fight.

The question before you is whether or not we, as Members of the Congress, believe that members of our Nation's military are deserving of the same rights as you and I and the rest of our country.
