“I have an amendment at the desk. The CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Add, at the end of the bill, the following: SEC. 3. GAO STUDY. Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall complete a study and submit a report to Congress on the number of aliens present in the United States who are inadmissible under section 212(a)(6)(A) or (C) or under section 212(a)(7) of the Immigration and Nationality Act who were detained, during the 5 year period preceding the date of the report, for committing an assault against a law enforcement officer. The CHAIR. Pursuant to House Resolution 1227, the gentleman from New York (Mr. Molinaro) and a Member opposed each will control 5 minutes. The Chair recognizes the gentleman from New York.”
