I really want to associate my comments with some of those of Senator Thune, who also talked a little bit about this issue.

I would like to thank Senator Gillibrand for her efforts in addressing the milk price crisis that all dairy farmers have endured in the last 18 months.

I would urge you to do so, particularly because we have so many opportunities for energy production in New York State.

What I would like to focus a little bit of time on is the biomass definition contained in the Energy Investment and Security Act of 2007 and the amount of confusion that it is creating because it does not really comport with the definition…

Thank you Senator Gillibrand, and all the co-sponsors of this bill for giving me the opportunity to submit a statement today and for the fight you have taken up on behalf of sick 9/11 Responders.

They are now being punished by the toxins they were exposed to for their noble efforts.

The events of 9/11 caught everyone by surprise. Men and women from all over the area, rushed in to help those who had been impacted by the planes, the fires and the collapses.

S. 1334 helps the sick by improving medical monitoring and treatment to WTC responders and survivors who were exposed to Ground Zero toxins.

I am proud to work with Senator Gillibrand to champion the health needs of World Trade Center responders and survivors.

Thanks to Senator Gillibrand we have a new champion in Washington who does see that we should not be abandoned by our own government and that we should have access to health care for our WTC-related illnesses.
