This is my hometown. It’s part of my community. I lived like 10 or 12 minutes from this neighborhood. I go back to Buffalo all the time. It is still my home. So, these are my neighbors.

I have just dedicated a billion dollars to rebuild that and to start putting the seams back together and helping this community.

I have made this one of my highest priorities because I know this neighborhood.

I have devoted more money and resources to rebuilding this community.

Mr. President, if you came to Buffalo, this part of our community that always feels neglected and overlooked.

I hold them responsible for not monitoring and alerting law enforcement.

It's gut-wrenching. Chuck, this is my hometown. ... It hurts like hell.

Any government leader that does not condemn this and condemn it today is a coward, and they're also partially responsible.

We say no more. No more mass shootings. No more disrupting lives. No more creating heartbreak for people, just trying to live their lives as normal New Yorkers. It has to end, it ends now.

Given the declining cases, given declining hospitalizations, that is why we feel comfortable to lift this in effect tomorrow.

So, New Yorkers, this is what we`ve waited for, tremendous progress after two long years.

We`re not in a good place. I`m going to be really honest with you. This is the winter surge we predicted.
