Isotopes, in my view, should not become a high priority only during supplemental requests.

I do want to give--I mean, this has been interesting.

Of course, not to mention that, for 3 hours, the occupant of the White House at the time failed to call out the National Guard, which could have clearly aided in support of the personnel at the Capitol.

We do not want them to be retaliated against and to be charged by the Department of Justice.

To say you support law enforcement and then withhold funding for law enforcement is at variance with common sense.

I must admit, I am perplexed as to why we are here for a public hearing on an active and ongoing Federal criminal investigation.

Thanks to all the brave men and women of the Capitol Police, the FBI, and other law enforcement for the work they do each and every day to keep the American people safe.

If they were serious about this investigation and supported law enforcement efforts, then they would not have cut critical funding for Federal law enforcement needed to solve these crimes and others.

The amendment would add a sense of Congress to the bill, simply clarifying that Congress has a duty to fully fund accessibility at voting locations.

It is incumbent upon us not only as elected Members of Congress but as Members of this Committee to do whatever we can to protect and preserve the right of every eligible American to participate without undue restrictions.

This is a meaningful bipartisan act to ensure that the public receives important information about election-relevant communications.

I am happy to introduce it with my friend and partner, the chair, Mr. Steil.

Frankly, nothing I heard in the testimony from witnesses gives me pause about charitable foundations offering support for election officials.

Election administrators have told us time and time again in hearings that they need additional funding to run safe and secure elections.

The newest version of this bill would once again violate the principles of home rule for the residents of the District of Columbia.

I would just ask to seek unanimous consent that the following be added to the record.

May I ask for a recorded vote, Mr. Chair?

I urge my colleagues to support election administrators by supporting this amendment.

I think all Members of the Committee would find this unacceptable.

I fully support this bill and hope we will ensure passage.
