For me to say that I did not know that this was going to turn into a net neutrality hearing would have been foolish, because I know that that is the issue of the day.

In my view, Dodd-Frank gave the SEC the responsibility to do that, to study it, to potentially develop a uniform definition, and DOL seems to be moving on their own.

I am still one of the perhaps few believers that it was a lack of oversight by the SEC that helped cause part of the problem on Wall Street.

I believe that further attempts to limit the SEC's ability to protect financial markets and the economy would greatly harm the prospects for a Financial Services appropriations bill.
