Unfortunately, oftentimes or as just happened at this time while I was in Africa I asked about U.S. involvement, U.S. investment, U.S. trade, and they are saying that they don't see enough of us.
I believe that leveraging the resources of the U.S. Government to support greater private sector investments which I think is key is a win-win.
I want to join the chorus in thanking you for your leadership as chairman of this committee.
I don't want them to go out, not having access to capital, into loans or feeling that they have to go to payday lenders or anything else where they have to pay some more money.
But I want it to be reasonable. Whereas the payday lenders are not reasonable.
I urge the Fed move more quickly on this initiative, but I am also sympathetic though to some concerns...
As Representative Meeks recently noted, fintech products can build a truly affordable and healthy financial system for everyone.
It limits their success. It limits their well-being and we must make sure that does not happen.
I've got to tell you, when I travel on this committee and I go almost any place in the world, ... I am so proud of them and what they do and what they stand for.
We need to be spending an adequate amount and more than is put forward in the President's budget on foreign aid.
