The Public Record
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States, serving from March 4, 1933, until his death on April 12, 1945. A member of the Democratic Party, he was born in New York and is best known for his leadership during two of the most significant crises in American history: the Great Depression and World War II. Roosevelt implemented the New Deal, a series of programs and reforms aimed at economic recovery and social welfare, which fundamentally reshaped the role of the federal government in American life.

Any person who was on October 16, 1936, an employee of the Rural Electrification Administration may now acquire such status.
Well, it's to give everybody who wants to do something toward defense a method of doing his or her part, no matter where they live.
This sets up the Office of Production Management, which I told you about the other day.
I am putting in Minton as Administrative Assistant, to act as legs for me—with a 'passion for anonymity.'
I hereby further exempt the said David D. Caldwell from compulsory retirement for age for a period of one year ending January 31, 1942.
The Army and Navy are military things. The Army and Navy naturally would decide.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way—everywhere in the world.
The first is freedom of speech and expression—everywhere in the world.
I hereby exempt the said Walter C. Mendenhall from compulsory retirement for age for a period of one year ending February 28, 1942.
We must face the fact that even with what we call 'full employment' there will remain a large number of persons who cannot be adjusted to our industrial life.
