Your fellow Americans have given a magnificent account of themselves.

Every dollar that you invest in the Third War Loan is your personal message of defiance to our common enemies.

I know I speak for every man and woman throughout the Americas when I say that we Americans will not be satisfied to send our troops into the fire of the enemy with equipment inferior in any way.

I think that it is a pretty fair guess to say that there will be a transition period.

The Congress, in passing and extending the Lend-Lease Act, made it plain that the United States wants no new war debts to jeopardize the coming peace.

The victors will maintain the peace during that transition period, and they will try out things.

Victory and a secure peace are the only coin in which we can be repaid.

People are awfully—what will I say?- immature when they talk about 'after the war.'

We well may be proud of that achievement for it has done much to make possible the successes of the armed forces of the United Nations.

That determination is shared by all Americans: by workers, by management, and by farmers.

It is altogether fitting that these groups of free Americans are working today.

To make time and thus save lives and suffering, our American workers, employers, and farmers will need not only to maintain their production pace but to increase it.

The war effort will be unduly impeded or delayed by such interruption.

Commander Henry B. Campbell, who was transferred by Executive Order No. 9113 of March 28, 1942, to the service and jurisdiction of the Navy Department, is hereby returned to the service and jurisdiction of the Coast and Geodetic Survey.
