Eric Adams is the current Mayor of New York City, having taken office on January 1, 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, Adams previously served as the Brooklyn Borough President from 2014 to 2021. He is known for his focus on public safety, economic recovery, and social equity initiatives. Adams has emphasized the importance of community support and has launched various public-private partnerships aimed at assisting vulnerable populations in the city, particularly during challenging times.
We’re seeing shooters becoming younger and younger. We’re seeing the direct results of some of the laws that we have passed – some of the actions, both in Albany and in the City Council.
Whenever I make a move, I’ll make an announcement. I’m in this race to win and if anything changes, trust me, I’ll be on Channel 5.
But the numbers don’t lie, the city is still the safest big city in the country.
I have a job. I’m running for re-election, I’m still doing that and I’m looking forward to getting re-elected.
We’re clear that some of these high-profile shootings with multiple victims, it just creates a feeling of unsafe and we have been focusing on that.
We see so much promise in New York City, and it is readily apparent that our public safety plan is working.
We will continue to make adjustments as we see spikes, but thanks to the brave men and women of the NYPD, New York continues to be America’s safest big city.
But even with the tremendous steps we’ve taken in making our city safer, we know that one crime is still one crime too many.
He did have a note on him. The note alluded to that he felt he had CTE, a known brain injury for those who participate in contact sports. He appeared to have blamed the NFL for his injury.
I know what it is when we came into office, and I made a commitment to you that we would settle your contracts.
What’s on the ballot this year? Public safety is on the ballot. When you have a candidate that says prostitution should be legal in our city — young boys and girls sell their bodies — that’s not a city I want to live in.
Long-term sheds are never a substitute for keeping buildings in safe condition, and with new enforcement tools and expanded staffing, we expect to bring down even more sheds in the years to come.
Old, outdated scaffolding is an eyesore on our beautiful city, and our administration will hold those responsible accountable.
