“I thank the gentlewoman for yielding to me. I rise in strong support of her motion, and I urge my colleagues to do so as well. Today is a day of bipartisanship. The President is speaking to us. And this is more reason why we should pass this and show that we should not be playing politics on something that's so vital to people's lives. We should not wait until the very last minute to reach an agreement. This motion simply instructs conferees to finish negotiations by February 17; and by doing so, we'd avoid the confusion and uncertainty that happened last time when the Congress waited until the last minute for the last extension.…”
