It is clear what has to be done. Senators from both sides of the aisle need to join with the administration and, indeed, with the Members of the House to put together a bill which we can pass. This business of continuing to talk about the need and then denying the opportunity to get together is hard to understand. Everybody here wants to pass a bill. There is no question about that. The question is, How do we do it? And that becomes increasingly clear. There are not going to be enough votes to do it without working together. This constant conversation about we need to do this right away is silly. We all want to do something to help the unemployed. We all want to do something for those who need help with health care. We all want to provide more incentives to develop jobs.
