in concluding our debate today I would like to note that support for this measure has grown rapidly since we first introduced it several months ago. We now have 37 co-sponsors, almost evenly divided between Members of the majority and the minority. The bill has been warmly endorsed by the coalitions representing the 23 million Americans of Central and Eastern European descent. They wrote to me stating that from their point of view this is the most important legislation we will consider this year. And finally just this morning we received word that the administration has decided to show its support behind the bill. The administration states, and I quote: ``The administration welcomes congressional support for the enlargement of NATO as reflected in H.R. 3564.'' Accordingly, I appreciate the support of my colleagues and look forward to early approval of the measure.
