Adriano Espaillat is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York's 13th congressional district since January 3, 2017. He is a member of the Democratic Party and is notable for being the first Dominican-American to serve in the U.S. Congress. Espaillat has focused on various issues including immigration reform, affordable housing, and healthcare access during his tenure. He has been an advocate for the rights of marginalized communities and has worked to address the needs of his constituents in New York City.
This particular program, the Job Corps program, I think is an example of what we can do for our -- the people that we represent.
I don't think that we should dismantle this program. I think that we should strengthen it.
I know this firsthand because I benefitted from a summer youth job program in New York--in fact, it was my first job opportunity as a young teenager--and can attest to how critical funding for these programs are.
I will encourage that as technology continues to play a bigger role in small businesses that there is a full effort to try to engage those that are really knowledgeable in assisting small businesses in that endeavor.
