I thank the Acting President pro tempore. As I was mentioning, like that moment when the President takes office, how we work together to reach across the aisle and find bipartisan solutions is a testament that our democracy--the greatest democracy in the world--is alive and well. Let's not squander this opportunity to place our Nation on a path to greater economic prosperity. The American people have children to raise, mortgages to pay, businesses to grow, and new discoveries to make. It is time for Congress to come together to make the tough decisions necessary so that Americans can get back to work and create a brighter future for generations to come.
