Catherine Cortez Masto is the junior United States senator from Nevada, having taken office on January 3, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, she made history as the first Latina senator in U.S. history. Before her election to the Senate, Cortez Masto served as the Attorney General of Nevada from 2007 to 2015, where she focused on consumer protection and public safety issues. She has been an advocate for various policies, including healthcare access, immigration reform, and economic development in Nevada.
I can promise you this--and I spoke to the group that was in my office earlier. This is my commitment: to continue to fight for the funding.
This is a fantastic panel. I just wanted the opportunity, however, to introduce all of you to one of the panelists from the great State of Nevada.
I have worked with as Attorney General looking at issues affecting the health of Native communities, particularly our youth.
To me, that is part of the tragedy of this horrific disease, that I feel that we need to be spending the money for the research for the cure.
I think we absolutely need to address this issue of skills gap and do whatever we can to prepare the workforce for the future.
investing in Interstate 11 is not fixing it first, it is investing in new projects that we need in infrastructure across the country.
I would appreciate more of a direct interaction at the state level and not through different task forces or multi-levels.
