I have been talking to many of my colleagues about this, including the Ranking Member, and I know there is bipartisan interest on many of these issues.

We need to strengthen our financial watchdogs' ability to impose fines, ban bad actors from the banking industry, and claw back compensation.

We must modernize our enforcement rules to match the size and complexity of banks with billions of dollars in assets.

We cannot--we will not--let that happen again.

I appreciate all of you agreeing to support the Energy Consumer Protection Act because I do think it is important to provide FERC with additional authority to go after traders that repeatedly manipulate electricity and natural gas markets.

They are environmentalists, for the very reason that you just said.

We have to make sure our cattle ranchers and our ranchers and farmers, their voices are heard and their businesses are not going to be limited in any way, whatsoever.

I am going to be watching and holding you accountable to that.
