Tom Udall

Tom Udall is an American politician and attorney who served as the junior United States Senator from New Mexico from 2009 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, Udall previously represented New Mexico's 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009. Throughout his political career, he has focused on issues such as environmental protection, healthcare, and Native American rights. Udall has been an advocate for legislation addressing the challenges faced by the Navajo people, particularly regarding land ownership and economic development.
I am not talking about necessarily the Bureau of Indian Affairs. I am talking about a collective effort to work on this issue and give these young people hope in our society.
I am happy to express support for the proposed Tribal Law and Order Act of 2009 and the significant measures contained therein.
Do you just have to kill somebody or rape some woman in order to get the Federal Government's attention?
I think it is an interesting idea. I think it is very consistent with some of the other provisions of this bill.
There is no greater compliment to the sovereignty or autonomy of any tribe than an independent tribal justice system.
